Company History

We have an amazing history!

Santa’s Village opened on Memorial Day weekend in 1955, just six weeks before Disneyland.

The original idea came from a Saturday Evening Post article that was written about a project called “North Pole” in New York. Crestline resident Glenn Holland proposed the idea to investors and broke ground, with Putnam Henck as the general contractor, in 1954. They worked closely with local artisans and craftsman to create the whimsical Village.

The park was built on 15 of the total 230 acres, which were leased to Santa’s Village by the Henck family. The park operated for approximately 23 years in this capacity, but eventually had to close in 1998.

In 2014, Santa’s Village was acquired by new owners who renamed it “SkyPark at Santa’s Village”, and began the daunting task of restoring the property to its former glory. In 2016, the park was re-opened as an outdoor adventure park, complete with mountain biking and enough attractions to encourage guests to visit year-round.

Today, we are proud to continue the legacy of Santa’s Village, and we hope you will join us in making sure that the property and the magic will be preserved for generations to come.

Our Staff

At SPSV Entertainment, we believe in providing our Villagers with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Here’s what some of our staff members have to say about working here:

Candie, Food & Beverage

“SkyPark fosters a positive workplace of camaraderie, community, and creativity. It makes coming to work every day enjoyable!”

Jeremiah, Groundskeeping

“I get to continually make important contributions to the aesthetic of the park’s landscaping. It’s something I genuinely enjoy.”

Becky, Janitorial

“What I like about working here is the interactions I get to have with our guests, meeting people from different countries, getting to know our regulars on first-name basis, and getting to work with a great group of people.”

Ryan, Outdoor Adventure

“Working at Skypark has given me an opportunity to try and learn many new skills and hobbies; giving me a chance to meet many different kinds of people.”

Jeff, Retail

“Almost immediately after starting work in August of 2016, I realized Skypark was different from any place I had ever worked before. It started with Bill and Michelle’s vision. From the moment I was hired, I realized I was part of something special. I was, and still am, amazed at how well the different departments work together to create a magical experience for our guests. I look forward to each day. I love the people I work with and enjoy the interaction with our guests. Having worked at several different companies, I realize how rare it is to have owners who truly care about their employees and work to create and maintain such a friendly working environment. After working here, I can’t imagine ever working anywhere else. The perks, employee appreciation events, free birthday lunches, free admission to the park etc… are just icing on the cake.”

Rebekah, General Management

“I love working at SkyPark because it is a local business that provides opportunity to work in an outdoor environment. We get to provide a fun experience both for mountain residents and be actively involved in the tourism and hospitality industry.”
