JOIN US AS WE WALK TO REMEMBER, TO INSPIRE, AND TO CELEBRATE THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TOUCHED BY BREAST CANCER
October 6th (8am-11am), SkyPark at Santa’s Village is proud to host A Walk in the Mountains, an annual charity event to raise money and awareness in the fight against breast cancer.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That means you probably know someone who has been personally affected by this devastating disease. The good news is, advances in early detection and treatments have significantly increased survival rates in recent years. Generally speaking, the earlier the cancer is detected, the greater the likelihood of a successful outcome.
The goal of A Walk in the Mountains is to provide hope and to spread awareness so that individuals are able to make better informed decisions about their health. There are currently four million breast cancer survivors in the United States, and death rates have been slowly decreasing since 1989. Early detection of breast cancer through annual mammography and other breast exams is the best defense against receiving a late-stage diagnosis.
Your $20 donation includes entry to the event, yoga, guest speakers, access to bid in the silent auction, and more. Proceeds from this event will go towards a new ultrasound machine for Mountains Community Hospital, which will aid in cancer screening and early detection.
